The new Suunto 7 and 9 Titanium smartwatches are robust

Many companies currently produce wearable devices such as smartwatches, with some being more popular than others. The Apple Watch is easily the most popular option on the market, but there are several other devices available for Android users.

This week Suunto launched two new smartwatches, Suunto 7 Titanium and Suunto 9 Baro Titanium. Suunto is known for its expensive-but-performing activity smartwatches, and it's emphasizing that with its latest models.

Both watches feature software updates, with the Suunto 7 offering in-depth analysis for sleep tracking, body resource management and heart rate. The Suunto 9 offers up to 170 hours of GPS tracking in "Tour" mode, and has been tested to MIL-STD-810 for durability in all conditions.

As you'll see below, the specs are otherwise familiar. The Suunto 7 Titanium is as much for everyday wear as it is an everyday activity watch, balancing its 70+ sports tracking modes, heart rate sensor, altimeter and 50m water resistance with common Wear OS extras like NFC for Google Pay. The Suunto 9 Baro Titanium is designed for sport and offers water resistance to 100 meters, more than 80 sport modes and a scratch-resistant sapphire display.

According to Suunto, the new Suunto 7 Titanium smartwatch reflects the company's emphasis on the importance of sleep and builds on its experience in the industry. The watch features an ultra-bright OLED touchscreen and has over 70 sport modes. It's powered by Google's Wear OS, which gives it access to apps from the Google Play Store. As its name suggests, it has a titanium bezel with a minimalist geometry. Komoot turn-by-turn guided navigation is supported, and the watch comes with a microfiber textile strap. The watch is available in Matte Black Titanium and Stone Gray Titanium.

The Suunto 9 Baro Titanium also features the titanium bezel and POI navigation. It comes with abrasion-resistant textile straps in two sizes that withstand sun and water exposure. It is available in Granite Blue Titanium and Charcoal Black Titanium. Other wristband colors will be available for sale in May.

The watches are available for sale now, with the Suunto 9 starting at 599 euros and the Suunto 7 at 479 euros.
