The Aircar flying car, soon in a sky near you?
BMW engine
The two -seater prototype, which deploys its wings in just three minutes by a single button pressure, weighs 1,000 kg and promises a range of 1000 km.It is powered by a 1.6 -liter BMW engine that develops 160 horsepower and petrol carbide "sold in any service station," said Anton Zalac, Klein Vision co -founder.He adds that Aircar can reach a maximum altitude of 5,500 meters (18,000 feet) with a cruising speed of 170km/h.The reaction line planes generally fly between 9,200 and 12,200 meters (30,000 and 40,000 feet) altitude while those with turboprop are rather between 5,100 to 7,100 meters (17,000 and 25,000 feet).
Colossal work
Eight highly qualified specialists have invested more than 100,000 hours of work for the vision of a flying car to become reality.Aircar presents many technologies, including a system for deploying parachutes, retractable wings and folding fillings. The latter would improve longitudinal stability and facilitate takeoff, as in a conventional plane, but when Aircar goes to car mode, the retracted footprint allows you to obtain a more compact size. The aerodynamic fuselage of the vehicle, built mainly from an advanced composite material, would offer enough space to passengers and optimize lift characteristics during the flight.
Aircar takes off in 2017
The Transport Authority closely follows all the phases of Aircar's development since its launch in 2017 by the Klein Vision company, co-founded by Stefan Klein and his friend Entrepreneur Anton Zajac. The prototype was presented to the general public on November 5, 2019 at China International Import (CIIe) in Shanghai, China in China.
With this certification, Klein Vision takes a new step towards the marketing of its flying machine but the company will however have to obtain an aircraft type certification, issued by AESA, to take off its commercial exploitation of Aircar.
