PhonAndroid iOS: some applications in the background melt the autonomy of iPhones
On iOS and Android, some apps continue to work even when they are not open. Some applications running in the background would be excessively greedy and would reduce the autonomy of the iPhone.

Some users have had the unpleasant surprise of finding that the battery of their iPhone melted like snow in the sun. It was by consulting the “Battery” page in the Settings of their device that they realized that a few applications were responsible for this sudden drop in their autonomy.
Even when you're not using an app, some may be running and updating in the background, whether to gather information, send you notifications, or maintain a connection with headphones or a connected watch. The problem is that these continue to consume battery power, which can greatly reduce battery life.

The Météo-France application is too greedy in the background
As revealed by @fquairel on Twitter using a screenshot, the Météo-France application would melt the battery of its iPhone 12 mini. Indeed, we can read that it consumed 49% of its battery while operating in the background. However, the Internet user would have opened it only once in 24 hours. It is therefore abnormal that the application has consumed half of its autonomy.
According to our colleagues from MacGeneration, who responded to his tweet, it would suffice to uninstall and reinstall the application to regain proper autonomy. This problem would not be isolated, as another Reddit user also reported that the Telegram app that was downloaded on his iPhone ran for almost 10 hours in the background, which is almost twice as long as it was used. effective.
To make matters worse, Apple itself had recently reduced the autonomy of iPhones with its iOS 14.6 update. While waiting for Apple or the developers of the applications concerned to deploy a patch, we can be reassured by saying that the iPhone 13 would have a much larger battery, up to 4352 mAh for the Pro Max version. And you, what are the applications that consume the most battery on your iPhone?
