Netflix: beware of a scam making it look like an expired subscription
A new phishing attack has been raging over the past few days, appropriating the identity of the Netflix platform. An email, received by many French Internet users, warns users of the presumed termination of their subscription, and invites them to regularize their situation.
As our colleagues from the Phoneandroid site point out, only a small typing error in the email allows us to distinguish between true and false, as well as some inconsistencies in punctuation or language. Details that are not necessarily obvious.
As with all phishing scams, which have been on the rise in recent months, this process involves recovering the victims' bank data by having them fill out a fraudulent payment form. The site related to the trickery is almost identical to the well-known Netflix interface, and therefore proposes to enter its card number.
The risk, of course, is that this information will be stolen from you.
Always remain vigilant
To avoid falling into this kind of trap, it is important to find out about the sites that record them, such as signal-arnaques.com. Second, it is always a matter of checking the sender's email address, which is often identifiable as fraud.
Finally, it is worth remembering that you should never give your bank details in case of doubt, and always make sure you are on a secure site if you are about to do so. In this case, if you are in doubt, go directly to your Netflix account to find out about its validity.
An upsurge in phishing attacks, also known as phishing, has been reported in recent months.
