Skylum publishes this May 27 an update of its flagship software Luminar AI, called "Update 3".It aims in particular to improve algorithms behind artificial intelligence that makes the success of software, also aims to enrich the tools of new features for ever more natural retouching, and to integrate the Apple ecosystem.Let's take stock of the new features.

Software improvements for more natural touch -ups

From its beginnings, Luminar AI's goal was clear: the software is designed to allow photographers of any level to have access to simple, but terribly effective touch -up tools.With this update, Skylum continues his design in this sense.

The tool, enriched with artificial intelligence Sky Ai, is now able to better recognize the horizon line of a landscape and thus integrate a new sky, more naturally.The software promises more realistic water reflections and, for that, incorporates sliders of "mist", "warmth", "light" and "aquatic blur".Finally, stage re-start has been improved to precisely detect the colors of the treated image and thus harmonize all the added or modified elements.

On the side of the "augmented sky" tool, Skylum now allows you to immediately use celestial objects added to the personalized folder (clouds, birds, planets, etc..) and have an overview in the software.A sovereign improvement that can save a lot of time during the editing process.

Finally, those who like to go far in photo editing will be happy to learn that the "density + /density -" tool (Dodge and Burn) is now endowed with a "softness" cursor.This allows you to refine the edges of the area where it is applied to better blend into the photo and obtain an even more natural result.

Luminar Ai reaches out to Apple

Skylum announces that the software is now fully compatible with the Apple M1 chip introduced last November.Luminar AI users on Mac can therefore take advantage of the speed of the processor to edit their images.

The update also allows the management of the HEIC format specific to the apparatus of the apple brand.Users using Windows can now touch up with captured photos using an iPhone or iPad.
