How to reactivate the Freebox Mini 4K remote control? [Tutorial]
In March 2015, exactly on the 10th, the troublemaker of the web that is Free, invited many journalists to attend a press conference. During it, its famous boss Xavier Niel presented his latest creation, the Freebox V7 Freebox Mini 4K. I will not go back over the details of this announcement since it is not the subject of these few lines today, but if you are interested, I invite you to read the article from the time.
After several months of various and varied exchanges with Free, I finally received the TV box, or Player if you prefer, for the Freebox Mini 4K. Yes, I have owned the Freebox Revolution since its launch but I needed a second TV box. I already had the Multi TV option but I still had the V4 TV box it seems to me, so it was time to upgrade.
With the announcement of the Mini 4K, not only could I benefit from the latest technology and also at a much better price. So I requested it in March 2015 but only received it a few days ago… better late than never. Good without knowing why the wait was so long, but the last reminder was the right one.
In short, like all mods, I've read a lot about the Freebox Mini 4K and its Player box, and I must say that I didn't hesitate to think that over time, Free had very certainly did what was necessary to improve the latter.
So I received the Player box from the Freebox Mini 4K which I hastened to plug in and there, I unfortunately encountered some problems. Since then, after several attempts, everything works perfectly but the remote control gave me a hard time.
I don't know if this has happened to you, but after a few hours of use, even a few minutes, the remote control no longer seems to work. Nothing works, we can press one of its keys, no response and the connection indicator remains undeniably off.
As I'm not one to tell myself that my devices break down 15 minutes after using them, so I started looking for a solution on Google friend which I finished by finding. This made me want to write this article to save you from wasting the same time as me to find the solution to this problem.
So here's how to "re-light" the remote control before resigning yourself to having to spend time calling Free or worse, asking to have it changed for you.
Here is how to proceed and you will see, nothing very complicated in fact:
- First remove the batteries from the remote control,
- Press all the buttons one after the other,
- Replace the batteries. li>
Normally, after performing these few very easy operations, the remote control should be perfectly functional again.
Yes, it may seem surprising as a repair and yet it makes perfect sense. Indeed, like any electronic device, the remote control is lined with capacitors that unfortunately sometimes have to be emptied. It can therefore be done via this manipulation.
